Established on March 29, 1950 as a single proprietorship, The Family Clinic, as it was originally known was a 20-bed hospital housed in a two-storey building in Sampaloc, Manila. On November 14, 1953, it was organized into a corporation with Dr. and Mrs. Eliodoro Congco, Dr. and Mrs. Pedro Ylagan, and Mr. and Mrs. Jose Arguelles as incorporators and renamed THE FAMILY CLINIC, INC. (FCI).
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
In 1961, a license to operate a 100-bed hospital was granted to FCI and this paved the way to the opening of its School of Nursing, which eventually replaced the School of Midwifery.
The school's old building was demolished in 1970 and in its stead, rose a nine-storey, 100-bed general hospital equipped with modern facilities, centralized air-conditioning and other amenities. A hospital annex was built in 1977, housing additional classrooms and offices for the medical consultants.
In response to the increasing student population, a new six-storey building along Gov. Forbes St. (presently, A.H. Lacson), Sampaloc, Manila was inaugurated in 1978 and presently houses four Colleges, namely: College of Nursing, College of Radiologic Technology, College of Arts & Sciences, and College of Physical Therapy.
The birth and growth of The Family Clinic, Inc. can be traced to the vision of Dr. Eliodoro Congco in partnership with his spouse, Dr. Lydia Congco. Imbued with a missionary and entrepreneurial spirit, he had a philanthropic vision and a paternalistic approach. His death in 1988 brought to a close an enviable record of meaningful civic, professional and business involvement and achievements. His spouse took over the helm until her demise in November last year.
The legacy of providing affordable quality healthcare education continues to fulfill dreams, which are now passed on to the children of the founders. Ernesto Congco and Mrs. Emma C. Garcia who were elected Chairman of the Board and President respectively. CLICK HERE to read more...

TOP 1 in the recent November 2009 RT Board Exam.
Previously,
in the last June 2008 RT board exam, LEO VILLAFLOR
also
placed
TOP 1. FCI
ranked TOP 1 for schools in the X-Ray Technologist Licensure
Exam in December 2008 while 10th place for X-Ray Technologist
Licensure Exam went to Family Clinic's

with 80.75%.
